It seems that a number of our friends are having problems accessing our blog. We don’t know what is wrong. We’ve tried changing the template, and we’ve tested our blog both in Firefox and Internet Explorer. Because we can’t figure out what is happening with Blogger, we might be moving to a WordPress blog: SphynxTales. We’ll let you know if and when we move.

While our humans were running a half-marathon yesterday (13.1 miles /21.1 kilometres), here’s what we were doing:
Our humans did okay at the half-marathon. It was a personal worst for our mom, unfortunately. She was on track to run a great race until somewhere between 8 and 9 miles, when her stomach starting acting up on her. She couldn’t keep running with her stomach bothering her, so she had to alternate running and walking. But she wasn’t aiming for a personal record/ personal best time, so she’s okay with it. Now, once our humans have recovered from the half, they’ll start training for the Dublin Marathon in October (26.2 miles / 42.2 km).

Time
When our humans were in Egypt, they visited Alexandria, where they saw this unique sundial (called an analemmatic disk) in front of the new Library of Alexandria. If you click on the second photo to make it larger, you should be able to read the instructions for this unique method of telling time!

Double the Frootbats, Double the Fun!
We have also been tagged for some memes, and we promise to do them as soon as we can. Our humans are off to Regensburg tomorrow (a city about an hour from Munich) where they will be running another half-marathon on Sunday. So if we aren’t around much on the weekend, you’ll know why. We hope to do the memes on Monday or Tuesday.
We also know that we owe several of you scrapbook pages. You’ll be happy to know that after this weekend, our mom won’t be travelling anywhere again until July at the earliest, so she’ll have time to finally finish the pages she owes many of you. So sorry for the delays – she was overwhelmed with the number of orders!

Merlin: When your sibling gets a cooler result in a quiz than you do, remember, it’s just a silly quiz! (Especially when your mom is a Will Smith fan, but has no idea who Johnny Knoxville is. So we don’t think this is a very good celebrity quiz, if we’ve never heard of one of the celebrities!)
Up for Anything
The kind of pet that can leap tall fences in a single bound (or not, but give it a shot anyhow), Merlin is the original Jackass, Johnny Knoxville!
Going through the pain so you don’t have to, Merlin knows that he trots a fine line between funny and stupid, but he doesn’t care—he’s laughing about it all the way to the pet store. His over-the-top antics make you grimace with fear and you often find it hard to believe that he actually enjoys playing the class clown. But Merlin laps it up and continues to defy the odds, despite your warnings and concerns. Other males in the pack tend to be a little jealous of Merlin, but the females find him simply dreamy. A die-hard good ol’ boy, Merlin is more of a General Lee type than a Knight Rider, but give him enough time to think things through and he’s sure to find a way to wreck both vehicles at the same time.
Leading Man
A fresh prince in the pursuit of happiness, Dragonheart is megastar Will Smith!
Putting the jazz back in jazzy, Dragonheart is always moving and grooving to the beat of his own internal drum. Not one to settle for second best, Dragonheart only takes on projects that are sure to draw attention and improve his pawpularity in the pack. Dragonheart‘s broad appeal across breed, age and gender lines means that his actions often lead to his being named best in show. Smooth, suave and debonair… he’s the perfect pet to take home to Mommy. Not lacking in the looks department, Dragonheart‘s toothy grin would send even the most furrocious group of alien invaders spinning helplessly back into space.

Our Humans were in Vienna on the weekend. While they were there, we had an excellent cat sitter looking after us. She visited us twice a day, and fed us, played with us, petted us, told us how handsome we are, made sure our fountain had water in it, and cleaned our litterboxes.
Before our humans left, they presented us with a new toy to play with while they were gone. It’s called a “Kitty Brain Train” and has two sides. One side, that you can see below, is basically a ball track, with an inner and outer track. The other side is an interactive ball game.

Hello all! 
We are back. So sorry to disappear suddenly without any word, but our humans went to Vienna for the weekend (where they thought they would have internet access, but they didn’t go online at all while they were there).
We had a wonderful cat sitter looking after us. She came twice daily to feed us, play with us, pet us and tell us what handsome boys we are, as well as clean our litterboxes and make sure there was plenty of water in our fountain for us.
Although the cat sitter takes very good care of us, we are very glad our humans are home. We will be back to regular blogging tomorrow. Thanks so much for your concern. You are all wonderful friends!

Merlin: When it comes to toys, don’t be afraid to improvise and experiment! Often the best toys are items that weren’t intended to be used as toys, such as hair elastics, plastic tops off of Gatorade bottles, or other pieces of trash.
P.S. Thank you all for your congratulations for our humans’ anniversary yesterday. The uniform our dad is wearing in their wedding photos is his “Mess Kit” or “Mess Dress”. It’s the formal uniform of an army officer in the Canadian Forces, and is the equivalent of a civilian tuxedo.
